After creating two nurseries for two little boys, I must say, designing a nursery for a baby girl just hit differently. I am absolutely in love with all the dainty little details surrounding her room.

When we found out we were having a girl; you better believe the first thing I started doing was putting together mood boards for her nursery. I kept going back and forth between boho and vintage. After weeks of going back and forth and back and forth, I thought, “hell, why not do both?”. That’s when I decided on a Vintage Boho nursery theme.

Everything in this room was centered around this beautiful rug I found from Loloi Rugs. It was the one thing I knew for sure that I wanted in this space. After the rug came in, everything just started to fall into place. I used my mood board as a reference and tweaked things along the way.

This space is FULL of many DIYs such as the Anthropology Dupe Mirror, Dresser/Changing station, Fan Moulding, Olive Tree, and so many more. You can check out all the DIYs for this space over on my Instagram page, Rustic Rose Homestead.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that the wall behind the crib looked different until 24 hours before this photoshoot, ha! Originally I had a boho basket wall above the crib. I loved it at first, but then I felt like it was such a huge statement and turned the nursery into more of a boho room than a vintage boho room.

North Prints has quickly become my favorite Etsy shop for prints. Not only for the nursery but my home as well. I wanted to incorporate more vintage, so I decided to paint the wall very last minute and hang a vintage art piece I found on Etsy at North Prints. This was a simple change that made a HUGE impact. If you want to make a big statement but don’t want to do a lot of work, paint one wall to add a contrast or even use wallpaper to create an easy accent wall.

This Anthropology Dupe Mirror DIYs is probably my FAVORITE DIY in the nursery. I wanted the Anthropology mirror, but I couldn’t bring myself to pay that price, so I DIYed it for only $50!

  • NOTE: The mirror linked above is NOT the mirror photographed in the nursery. I attached a similar one since this was a DIY.

This area of the nursery is full of DIY projects. The dresser is another one of my nursery favorites. This was a dresser I found on Facebook Marketplace back when Lincoln was a baby. It was dang near a new dresser from Ashleys Furniture, so all I did was change out the knobs for his nursery. I did a complete furniture flip for baby girls’ nursery, which you can find here.

Another DIY in this space is the shelves. I love the Ikea shelves, but they are $17 each, and I knew I could make them cheaper myself. I also wanted to flip a shelf upside down to use the dowl rod to hang bonnets on. You wouldn’t be able to do this with the Ikea shelves, so it was a bonus that I could make them the exact size and style I wanted

  • NOTE: The shelves linked above are NOT the shelves photographed in the nursery. I; linked similar ones since this was a DIY.

When I thought about what I wanted in this little corner, I wanted this Crate&Kids arched shelf. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, so I decided to build some built-in arched shelves because building them would have been a lot cheaper. Then, one day I got super lucky while watching a local designer’s stories on Instagram, K.B Staging + Design. She was sharing all her Tj Maxx finds, and she shared the shelf photographed in the nursery. I RUSHED to Tj Maxx to see if it was still there, and it was! I was so excited. It was initially $200, but it was a little damaged (nothing I couldn’t fix), so I asked if they could discount it, and they did. I scored it for $160!

  • NOTE: Most places will discount items for you if they are damaged, so if you are willing to buy the damaged item at a discounted price, be sure to ask!

The gray chair and sage green pouf are also two items I found at TJ Maxx. Unfortunately, I am unable to link them because I can’t find them online but be sure to check your local Tj Maxx/Home Goods for discounted furniture. They typically have a vast range of pieces.

Lastly is the added touch of the vintage ceiling medallion. After seeing Kristen, over @builds_by_kristen, use this in her Harry Potter Room, I knew I needed it. I lucked out, and Home Depot had ONE left. I did a little DIYing to it and installed it before installing the fan.
